What is recorded here

Not visible at ground level. The present 19th-century church was probably built on the site of the earlier church. The graveyard (OF042-026001-) contains several early 18th-century headstones worthy of recording. Architectural fragments of a late medieval church have been used as headstones in graveyard. Fragment of twin light ogee headed window can be seen in front garden of house directly across from church gates. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 23 May 2011
