What is recorded here

No surface trace visible of Tulla Castle depicted on the 1838 ed. OS 6-inch map (O' Flanagan 1933, vol. 2, 21). Castle site appears to be depicted at the wrong location on the revised ed. OS 6-inch and 25-inch maps. The castle site was located a short distance to the W of where it is marked on the 1838 ed. OS 6-inch map. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
