What is recorded here

Located on the N facing slope of a high ridge running E-W. Roughly circular area (diam 29.2m E-W) defined by a much degraded bank from W through N to E (ext. H 2m; int. H 0.5m) elsewhere destroyed. No evidence of an entrance feature or external fosse. The site has been badly disturbed due to quarrying in the centre and the removal of the bank at S to give access to the quarry. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 23 May 2011
