What is recorded here

A large enclosure defined a bank that has been planted with beech trees along its perimeterand a well preserved V-shaped profile. This appears to a be a tree-ring that has been created on the demesne of Kinnitty Castle. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 23 May 2011
