What is recorded here

Situated in undulating countryside with extensive views in all directions. Raised oval shaped area (diam 85m E-W) enclosed by an earthen bank (ext. H 7m; int. H 1.5m; Wth 2m) which is best preserved at E, with outer fosse (Wth 6m) also best preserved at E. A field drain intersects the site at S destroying the inner bank and outer fosse. No apparent entrance feature visible. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
