What is recorded here

Located on W facing slope on high ground just below summit. Circular area (diam 32m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 1.5m; int. H 0.7m) which has been reduced to a scarp in places. No evidence of an outer fosse or entrance feature. Overgrowth in the interior made examination difficult. Roadway intersects site at SE. The interior slopes from E to W. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 23 May 2011
