Coolfin Glebe is 1.5km south of the church (OF031-044----) and village of Ballyboy. The precise location of Coolfin Castle which was the property of the church has not been identified. No castle is depicted in this townland on any map. The castle which formed part of the ecclesiastical estate of Ballyboy Church (OF031-044----) is mentioned in the Books of Survey and Distribution for County Offaly where underneath the townland name of ‘Culfeane’ [Coolfin Glebe] there is listed ‘Three Cottages an old Castle Impropriate’ (NLI p 3771).
