What is recorded here

The site (L 13.8m; Wth 0.88m min.; D 0.05m) is orientated NE-SW and is constructed of longitudinally laid mixed brushwood and a roundwood overlying a small twig bed. Four pegs (diam. 0.03-0.04m) are set in the centre of the site at angles of 60-85°. The wood is in very poor condition and woodworking is evidenced by a single chisel point. It lies in poorly humified Sphagnum peat with some Eriophorum. Compiled by: Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College Dublin). Date of upload: 23 May 2011
