Marked as a trackway on all eds. OS 6-inch map running SW of church (OF026-017----) and probably to link up with similarly marked site (OF026-015----). Davies (ITA Survey 1942) doubted the antiquity of this roadway. Not visible at ground level.
Archaeological testing under licence no. 04E0009 was carried out as part of the planning schedule for a single-house development adjacent to a barrow, a togher and an enclosure at Urney, Geashill, Co. Offaly. A series of trenches were excavated by mechanical digger at the house site, entrance and percolation area. No features or finds of archaeological significance were revealed (Excavations Bulletin 2004).
