What is recorded here

The site (L 6.64m min.; Wth 1.15m min.; D 0.24m min.) is orientated WNW-ESE. It consists of longitudinal brushwood (diam. 0.03-0.055m) and roundwoods (diam. 0.08-0.11m) with occasional irregularly laid brushwood. These are densely laid, up to three pieces deep. The wood is in excellent condition with a number of metal-cut toolmarks and evidence of branch-trimming present. It lies in well-humified Sphagnum peat with small pockets of Eriophorum and some ericaceous remains. Compiled by: Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College Dublin).
