What is recorded here

The site (L 3.25m; Wth 2.18m; D 0.23m) is orientated E-W and consists of very regular, densely laid, light brushwood and roundwoods with occasional twigs. At the E extent of the site there is a large tree stump, however, a relationship between the two is unclear. The wood is in a good condition with a wedge point and a chisel point present. It lies in moderately humified Sphagnum peat with Eriophorum. This site has been radiocarbon dated to 791-404 cal. BC (Wk-11717). Compiled by: Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College Dublin). Date of upload: 23 May 2011
