Paupers burial ground that is of post-1700 AD date which may have reused an earlier ringfort (OF017-005001-). Described by the Offaly Historical and Archaeological Society in 1974 as a 'Paupers graveyard. No longer inuse. One large stone cross reads. Erected by Fr. Callary PP VG / In Memory of the Poor/ who are buried in this cemetery/eternal rest grant to them O Lord/ may their souls rest in peace/ April 5th 1918. A no. of small crosses (of iron) (2 6ft high) and one stone cross to Charles Ward' (OHAS files 1974). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
