A dispersed layer (Wth 4.4m; D 0.48m) of predominantly light brushwood and some light roundwoods in opposing drain faces. The site appears to run in a NE-SW direction with the components arranged irregularly. There is no evidence, however, for a clear structure. Metal-cut toolmarks are noted on two pieces. Wood species include alder and birch. The site lies in poorly humified Sphagnum peat containing large pockets of Eriophorum and occasional woody fragments. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1996. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
