Two pieces (Wth 0.31m; D 0.13m) of brushwood (diam. 0.03-0.06m) orientated NE-SW in the drain face. One piece is of alder, the other is of Pomoideae. They occur at a slight distance from each other and a direct relationship cannot be established. Both are found within the same peat stratum of well-humified Sphagnum peat with frequent, unidentified rootlets. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1996. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
