What is recorded here

The site (L 2.5m; Wth 0.59m; D 0.22m) is orientated ENE-WSW and consists of light brushwood, laid three pieces deep, and two pegs on adjacent field surfaces. The pieces are closely spaced and are laid longitudinally. The pegs are positioned either side of the main deposit and are set at 60° and 80°. Woodworking is evidenced by chisel points, wedge points and tear marks. The site is in well-humified Sphagnum peat. Compiled by: Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College Dublin).
