What is recorded here

The site (Wth 2.26m; D 0.14m) is orientated SE-NW and composed of three birch and hazel roundwoods below heather and brushwood. Much of the wood was cut and ripped and side branches were removed from the roundwoods. The site was destroyed before its location could be surveyed and may have been an area of modern clearance. Compiled by: Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College Dublin). Date of upload: 23 May 2011

This remains an important historical record, but the official description says the monument is no longer visible or has been destroyed.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
