What is recorded here

The site (L 37m min; Wth 0.052m; D 0.46m) is orientated N-S and composed of dense layers of longitudinal birch and ash brushwood (diam. 0.015-0.02m) interspersed with some large roundwoods. Some of the ash brushwood is half-split. The site is seven layers deep along the N side and decreases to a single layer at the S. The width of the site as exposed in section is exaggerated by the angle at which the drain truncates the site. Toolmarks were recorded. Compiled by: Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College Dublin). Date of upload: 23 May 2011
