What is recorded here

The site (Wth 3m; D 0.9m) is orientated SE-NW and composed of a very dense concentration of longitudinal and transverse roundwoods (diam. 0.09-0.16m) and brushwood (av. diam. 0.02m) up to ten layers in depth. The roundwoods are located towards the base of the structure. Birch, ash, alder and hazel are present and several half-split oak timbers were recorded. A further togher, SMR OF013-012026-, abuts this site overlying its S edge for 0.5m. Compiled by: Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College Dublin). Date of upload: 23 May 2011
