This site is located in the industrial peatlands of Daingean South Bog. It was first recorded in the 2013 Reassessment Peatland Survey as two field surface sightings (OF-DAS008a and b) traced over a length of 16m, each containing a pair of longitudinal planks (Whitaker 2014). On excavation in 2014 (licence 14E0302) it was revealed to be a plank togher. The site was dated to cal. AD 538-650 (UBA 26593).
Sighting A was located on a stockpile field where nothing remained in situ. One cutting was opened at Sighting B, measuring 6 x 3m. It consisted on two oak planks laid end to end, orientated NW-SE (Wth 28-0.36m, L .83 - .92m). Both planks were in poor condition: soft with fibrous roots throughout the wood. They both contained well-defined but poorly preserved mortice holes at their N ends. One inner tangential split and a secondary radial split were noted. Ring counts recorded on site were over 60 years. The site was overlain and underlain by moderately humified Sphagnum peat (Whitaker 2017).
