Unlocated standing stone within Durrow monastery described by Thomas Stanley in 1870 as 'Within the ancient gate of Durrow immediately behind the rampart, a conglomerate rests upon a raised piece of green sward. It is about four and a half feet long. And due west of it at some distance, there is a singularly marked limestone, most famous as cursing pains in the back.' (Stanley 1870-1, 27-9).
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
