What is recorded here

The site (Wth 0.92m; D 0.28m) is orientated E-W and consists of a compact single layer of pieces of brushwood (diam. 0.01-0.042m) and a roundwood (diam. 0.065m), evident in opposing drain faces. These larger elements are associated with a lot of light twig material used to supplement the structure. Little evidence of woodworking was uncovered. Wood species include birch and alder. The site was constructed on well-humified Sphagnum peat and subsequently a thin lens of moderately to poorly humified Sphagnum inundated the site. This site has been radiocarbon dated to 1003-799 cal. BC (Beta-118034). The site is located 1m S of SMR OF007-188---- and just over 10m N of SMR OF007-189----.
