The site (L 18.18m; Wth 2.4m; D 0.1m) is orientated E-W on the field surface The site has been extensively damaged by milling. It consists of over fifty pieces of brushwood and three roundwoods, laid 2-3 pieces deep, with over ten pegs set between 80-90°. Occasional twigs are also present. The roundwoods were longitudinally laid but the brushwood was irregular and devoid of any structural definition. Degraded toolmarks were evident on a number of elements. An ash artefact (92E148:42), worked on all sides was recovered. A second ash artefact (92E148:41) was also located c. 0.5m SW.
Amongst the wood species identified were birch, hazel, alder, ash and Prunus avium/padus. The site is situated in moderately humified Sphagnum peat with Eriophorum, ericaceous remains and a small amount of Phragmites. The site was radiocarbon dated to cal. AD 1414-1631 (Beta 118038). The site is located approximately 3m S of SMR OF007-139----.
