What is recorded here

On a natural rise in undulating countryside. Only the W half of the site survives from S though W to N. Originally a circular area (diam 30m N-S) enclosed by a low bank of earth and stone (ext. H 1.5m; int. H 0.5m) with shallow external fosse. No entrance feature visible. A field fence running N-S bisects the site in two with the E sector totally destroyed. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 23 May 2011
