What is recorded here

An isolated hazel stake (diam. 0.05m) located at the edge of a drain. The stake had a wedge point. The top of the stake had been lost due to machine damage. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1993. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
