Clonmacnoise grave-slab inventory (1992) number: CLN00198
Dimensions: H 0.24, W 0.45, T 0.075
Double outline ring cross with hollow angles. Upper arm and stem of cross are looped, as shown by Petrie. Marks of carving are still visible but it is damaged by cement.
Inscription: 'OR DO] BOI[SS]E' runs clockwise around the upper arm of the cross.
Evidence of discovery: Drawn by Petrie in 1821 and recorded missing in 1872. Re-emerged as fragmentary in 1909.
Condition: Fragment with part of upper cross arm/inscription.. The Clonmacnoise inventory was compiled by the Office of Public Works. A copy of the record for this slab is available for inspection in the relevant Archaeological Survey of Ireland (SMR) file.
