Situated inside the edge of the platform of trivallate rath (MO032-013001-) at NW. A grass-covered trench (L 14m; Wth of top 4m; Wth of base 1.5m; D 0.5m) runs SW from the perimeter at NW. It might be a collapsed souterrain, which according to local reports, had been open in the 1930s. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of revision: 27 July 2017
