What is recorded here

Situated on a rise on a gentle S-facing slope. This is an oval or D-shaped and grass-covered platform (dims 34.6m NW-SE; 25.8m NE-SW) defined by a scarp (at SE: Wth 2m; H 0.8m; at NW: Wth 2.6m; H 1.6m) with some bushes on the perimeter ESE-S-NW, which is cut by a NW-SE road bank at NE. There is no visible fosse or entrance, but slight traces of the inner edge of a bank are intermittently visible. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of revision: 29 August 2017
