What is recorded here

Located at the SE summit of a short NW-SE drumlin ridge. This is a raised and grass-covered circular and slightly domed area (diam. 38.4m N-S; 35.6m E-W) defined by a grass and scrub-covered earthen bank (Wth 5.6-6.2m; int. H 0.4-0.8m; ext. H 2.9-3.2m) and a slight outer fosse (Wth of top 6.6-7m; D 0.4m) that may have been re-cut SE-SW. There are entrance gaps at W (Wth of base 4m) and SE (Wth of base 2.5m), both of which could be modern. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of revision: 8 December 2017
