Located on a rise at the bottom of the NE-facing slope of a drumlin. It is depicted as a circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 45m) and described as a ‘fort’ in gothic script on the 1834 edition of the OS 6-inch map. This is a grass-covered and slightly domed circular area (diam. 34.2m E-W; 33.7m N-S) with some rock outcrop defined by a scarp (at E: Wth 1.8m; ext. H 1.3m) with some bushes. There is no visible fosse or identifiable original entrance, and the perimeter at NW has been quarried.
