Located on a shelf overlooking a small N-S stream that curves around it c. 15-20m distant NW-W-S. This is a circular grass-covered area (diam. 27m N-S; 26.6m ENE-WSW) with some rock outcrop defined by an earthen bank (at S: Wth of base 4m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 1.4m) E-S that is reduced to a scarp (at S: Wth 3m; H 1.6m) with some bushes elsewhere. There is no visible fosse, but the entrance (Wth of base 1.5m) is at SE. Rath (MO028-007----) is c. 100m to the N. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986).
