What is recorded here

Situated on top of a drumlin. This is a subcircular grass and scrub-covered area (dims 38.5m E-W; 33m N-S) defined by a grass and scrub-covered earthen bank separated by a fosse from an outer field bank. There is a modern gap at WSW but the original entrance (Wth of base 1.9m) and causeway (Wth of top 2.4m; H 0.6m) is at E. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Revised by: Michael Moore Date of revision: 9 May 2018
