Situated towards the SE end of a NW-SE drumlin ridge. This rath is depicted on McCrea’s Map of the county of Monaghan (1793) and on the 1834 and 1907 editions of the OS 6-inch map. It is a circular grass-covered area (diam. 32.4m NW-SE; 29.8m NE-SW) defined by earthen bank (at NE: Wth of base 5.2m; int. H 0.55m; ext. H 1.8m) with some bushes but no visible trace of a fosse. A field bank is built against the base of this scarp all around. There are several gaps through bank but the original entrance is not identifiable. Running SSW from the centre is a depression (dims 11.6m NNE-SSW; 5.7m WNW-ESE; max. D 1.35m) with a spur (dims WNW-ESE 4.3m; 4.4m NNE-SSW; max. D 0.8m) off its W side. This could be a destroyed souterrain, although there is no evidence of stone.
