Situated on a hill described as ‘Fort Hill’ on the 1907 edition of the OS 6-inch map that is at the SW edge of a broad plateau. This is a circular area (diam. 33.2m WNW-ESE; 32.4m NNE-SSW) used as a haggard which is defined by an earthen bank (at E: Wth of base 3.6m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 2.6m), with an outer fosse SE-W. There is an outer bank ESE-SW where it becomes incorporated in a field bank SW-W. The entrance (Wth of base 3m) and widened causeway are at SE. There is a farmhouse c. 10m to the N where archaeological testing (12E0007) produced no related material (Sweetman 2012).
