What is recorded here

Situated at the summit of a low N-S ridge. A small D-shaped enclosure is represented only on the 1907 edition of the OS 6-inch map. Only the S part remains and consists of an overgrown D-shaped area (dims c. 18m E-W; c. 12m N-S) defined by a scarp (at SSE: H 1.1m) SSE-W but the perimeter is incorporated into a field bank E-SSE. An E-W field bank truncates the monument and it has no visible profile N of this feature. There is no visible fosse or entrance. Souterrain (MO014-006002-) is in the interior. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of revision: 23 February 2018
