Situated on the summit of a WNW-ESE drumlin ridge. This is a schist pillar with a square cross-section at the base (dims 0.9m N-S x 0.85m E-W; H 1.9m) and a roughly pointed top. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986).
