Situated on a NE-facing slope. The name Ahaghkilly is derived from Eanach cille – the marsh of the church – and this townland had been owned by the Augustinian abbey of Clones before 1587 when it was leased by Henry Duke (Moore 2014). There is a local tradition of a church (MO012-063001-) and cemetery here. There are no visible surface traces of a church or graveyard, and the location is not certain, although it may be within a small copse. Date of revised upload: 21 January 2018
