What is recorded here

Situated on a rise which is on a S-facing slope. This is a circular overgrown area (diam. c. 30m; H 1.8m at N to 3.3m at W and 4.25m at E) defined by a scarp with a fosse or berm (Wth 1.8m at W to 3m generally) at the base, and an outer bank or scarp (H 1.6-1.8m). It may be a largely natural feature. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Revised by: Michael Moore Date of revision: 29 January 2019
