What is recorded here

Located on a shelf on a S-facing slope. This is a grass-covered subcircular area (dims 45m N-S; 40m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (at W: Wth of base 5.5m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 2m) S-NW that is reduced to a scarp (at S: Wth 5.4m; H 3.2m) elsewhere, and with slight traces of an outer fosse in a berm (Wth 5.5m) SE-SW. The original entrance is not identified. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Revised by: Michael Moore Date of revision: 29 January 2018
