What is recorded here

Located just off the N edge of a low hill. This is a subcircular grass-covered area (dims 28.5m NE-SW; 25m NW-SE) defined by an earthen bank (Wth c. 3m; int. H c. 0.5m; ext. H c. 1.5m) and hedge, with a wide outer fosse (Wth of base c. 4.5m) ENE-S. There is a ramp entrance (Wth of base 2m) at SSW. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of revision: 26 January 2018
