What is recorded here

Discovered prior to road construction (Excavation Licence 04E1160). A spread of charcoal rich clay and heat shattered stones (dims 17.5m x 10m; D 0.4m) was initially identified. Excavation of this revealed two troughs, one subrectangular (dims 1.8m x 1.2m; D 0.4m), the other subcircular (dims 1.8m x 1.6m; D 0.3m). A piece of flint was recovered from the spread, and a sample of charcoal from the fill of the subcircular trough produced a C14 determination of 2340-2020 Cal. BC.
