Located on the summit of a NNE-SSW ridge. A circular enclosure is depicted at Tonyshandey on McCrea’s map of Co. Monaghan (1793). This was described in 1967 as an overgrown circular area (diam. c. 35m) defined by an earthen bank (at SSE: Wth of base 5.2m; Wth of top 1.2m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 2.4m) and an outer fosse or drain (Wth of top 2.1-2.5m; Wth of base 1-1.5m; ext. D 0.7m at N to 1.1m at SSE). There is an entrance (Wth of base 2.5m) and causeway (Wth of to 1.6m) at SE. The interior is now grass-covered (Bing 2013).
