Located just off the crest of the SE-facing slope of a NE-SW ridge. It is depicted only on the 1907 edition of the OS 6-inch map as a circular feature (diam. c. 35m) occupying most of a small rectangular field. No archaeological feature is visible at ground level in pasture that slopes down steeply to the E.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
