What is recorded here

Located on a SE-facing slope. This is a circular grass and rush-covered area (diam. 36m E-W; 34m N-S) that slopes down to the SE, which is defined by an overgrown earthen bank best preserved SW-NW (int. H c. 1m) where it is incorporated into a field bank. There is an outer fosse, which has probably been re-cut WSW-N. There are many gaps in the bank but the original entrance is not identified. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of revision: 25 July 2017

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
