What is recorded here

Located on a prominent rise. This is a subcircular grass-covered area (dims 34.8m N-S; 28.4m E-W) that is level and used as a garden, which is defined by an earthen bank that is largely reduced to t a scarp (H 1.2-1.8m) E-W. A farm lane skirts the perimeter S-W-N where the scarp is highest (H 2.3-3.8m). There is a farmhouse c. 20m to the N and steps lead up to the interior from a modern entrance at N. The original entrance may have been at ESE where the perimeter is lowest, and the monument is surrounded now by farm buildings N-E-S. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of revision: 25 July 2017

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
