What is recorded here

Located on a small drumlin. This is a circular overgrown area (diam. 23m) defined by traces of an earthen bank that is largely reduced to a scarp (at S: H 1m) with an external fosse (at S: Wth of top 5; Wth of base 2m; ext. D 0.9m) which is incorporated into a drain W-NE. There is a modern entrance at SE, but the original entrance is not identified. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of revision: 25 July 2017
