Situated on a hill in a fairly level landscape. A chapel at Rathleek in the large parish of Dunboyne does not occur in the ecclesiastical lists, but it is amongst nine chapels recorded by Cogan (1862-70, vol. 1, 190), who says that this church had been removed by c. 1840. At that time artefacts and bones were recovered when levelling an earthen bank. The location is known locally, and the top of the hill is defined by a curving field bank SW-N-NE (diam. c. 100m).
