Located on a level landscape on the N bank of a W-E section of the Tolka River, with the canalised stream c. 20m to the S. Archaeological testing (02E1406) by G. Dehaene identified a spread of broken and burnt stones (dims 2.4m x 1.5m plus; T < 0.12m) in one trench. The mound was sectioned but its full extent was not exposed, and it is still in situ (excavations.ie 2002:1439). (Dehaene 2002)
