Two cereal-drying kilns are within the annexe attached to the S of Site 1 that was excavated (17E0080) by Deirdre Murphy (excavations.ie 2018:805), and a third is cut into its defining ditch at S. This kiln is c. 1m inside the edge of the fosse of the annexe at S. It is irregular in shape (dims 4.8m E-W; 1.3m N-S; D 0.3m) with an uneven base and had the drying chamber at E. It narrowed at the centre for the flue and had five fills, including fire-reddened clays in the firing chamber and silty clays with charcoal in the drying chamber. The kiln was cut by a NE-SW drain at W. (Murphy 2019, 16, 28)
