What is recorded here

Located on a slight NE-facing slope on the W bank of a small S-N stream. The cropmark of a subrectangular enclosure (dims c. 50m NE-SW; c. 35m NW-SE) defined by single fosses or drains is visible on an oblique aerial photograph (CUCAP: BDP 029) from 1970. It backs onto the stream at NE but has its own defining feature on this side and the NW side is convex with an entrance gap at the centre. The enclosure is also partly visible on Digital Globe (c. 2013). The enclosure (ME045-055----) and field system (ME045-056----) are just across the stream to the NE. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 12 August, 2014 Amended: 17 December 2021
