What is recorded here

Located in the grounds of the Roman Catholic church of the Assumption at Batterstown. This is a rectangular granite font (ext. dims 0.58m x 0.58m; H 0.34m) with a rectangular basin (int. dims 0.42m x 0.41m; D 0.16m). Externally, it has chamfered corners at the bottom (H 0.21m) and its drain-hole is obscured by soil. Two of the sides have two shallow depressions (diam. 4cm) on the rim for the attachment of a lid.
